Early Childhood Services (ECS)
Our flexible (AM or PM/ AM+PM), centre-based Pre-K program is led by certificated teachers, educational assistants, and specialists in speech, occupational therapy, and psychology—creating an inclusive, nurturing space that supports each child’s unique and diverse needs.
Beacon Heights Early Childhood Services (ECS) follows the curriculum and standards set by Alberta Education and is an approved Independent Early Childhood Services (ECS) Operator. We act as a coordinator for Program Unit Funding (PUF). The ECS operator is responsible for coordinating applicable supports and services.
We offer both half-day (AM or PM) and full-day (AM + PM) Pre-Kindergarten programming to meet the needs of children and families.

Exceeding the 800-Hour Requirement with Purpose
More Than Just the Minimum
While Alberta Education requires a minimum of 300 to 800 instructional hours per school year for Pre-Kindergarten programs, Beacon Heights ECS proudly exceeds this standard. Our full-day Pre-K program offers 1,125 instructional hours—based on 6.25 hours of daily instruction across 180 school days.
Please note: Arrival, lunch, and dispersal times are not included in this total, ensuring every counted hour is dedicated to purposeful learning.
