We offer early intervention screenings to help identify areas where your child may qualify and benefit from extra support—such as speech and language, motor development, or self-regulation skills. To access services funded by Alberta Education, children must be registered and funding applications submitted before November 30, 2025.
What to Expect from the Screening Process:
- Conducted by our multidisciplinary team, including an Alberta Certified Teacher, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist
- Takes approximately 30-60 minutes
- Helps determine whether additional supports from our team are recommended
- Results and next steps will be shared with parents/guardians

When Early Intervention services are recommended for your child, here’s what happens next:
- Please download the enrollment form below to officially begin the process.
- You complete the form with your child’s information—our team is here to help if needed.
- Beacon Heights ECS submits the funding documentation directly to Alberta Education on your behalf.
- We keep you informed every step of the way with updates and next steps.

Mild/Moderate (M/M) Funding
Children eligible for Mild/Moderate (M/M) funding are those diagnosed with a mild to moderate delay in one or two areas of development. To qualify, a child must be at least 3 years and 8 months old, but not yet 6 years old as of September 1.
Program Unit Funding (PUF)

PUF funding is available for children between 2 years and 8 months and under 6 years old as of September 1. Eligible children can receive support for up to three years, including their kindergarten year.
